I watched a documentary on Liddell. When he ran his Gold meddle winning four hundred meter race Liddle was given the outside lane. Liddell could not see the other runners so he ran the 400 meters at a 100 meter pace. My favorite line from Chariots of Fire was when Liddell was talking to his fiancée. She asked him why he ran. Liddell responded “ I feel God’s pleasure when I run”.
