Pure stupid. But the internet came up with some funny twitter responses. I lol'd at the requests to try and find a confederate general named Joe Buck.

I saw this last night and thought Tucker Carlson might be getting punked. This is the height of stupidity and misdirected reaction to....nothing. The guys name is Robert Lee, so what. He has done nothing wrong but the progressives at ESPN are concerned about what might come of this. What has come of this is the commentator has been negatively impacted for nothing. This is what happens when the brain gets turned off and you operate solely on political ideology.

I think ESPN stopped way short; I think they should pull all commentators named Robert or Bob, or maybe even Bill or Bernard, because they're name starts with B, just like Robert's nickname starts with B, and while they're at it, they should curtail anyone named Roberta, or Bert, or Fred, because Fred has an RE in it, just like Bert, which reminds me of Bob, which is short for Robert, which stands for ...
