With all the discussion on this particular topic, I think this is perhaps the one guy uniquely experienced to speak on both sides of the conversation. Knowing him personally, as one of his teachers, a teammate of my kids, and a fellow Spartan, I'd say he's just the guy to bring some sense to this conversation. Oh, and he plays for the greatest team in all of the NFL (couldn't resist that plug..)

If the guy wants to protest, then this is where Villeneuve made sense. "But he's an athlete, he's got a huge platform, he has to see the impact he has on other people's lives."
As a sports personality Kaepernick, does have the platform, but it is how he uses it, or doesn't for that matter, to get his message across.

And I believe this is what Ali was referring to. The message warrants a large platform, but just because you have a big platform doesn't mean you should use it with in a way that might not be very well thought out.

All, I shared this post because I've seen a lot of quick reposts on various stories with usually harsh comments attached regarding CK's actions. Unless I'm mistaken, Ali is the only CURRENT player in NFL with actual combat experience. I'm guessing there are no Rally Pointers with NFL experience. Point was that Al has a uniquely valid perspective.
