It's definitely a sad situation for the Harrelsons. What ever happened to the rule that a person who is charged with a crime, has the right to a speedy trial? Mr. Harrelsons has been jailed for over 17 months! Where is his right to an attorney, if he can't afford one? Is this only for State crimes? It would be interesting to know, if he even received a Miranda warning.
Furthermore, the VAB can award and take it away, but they will work with you on a repayment plan.

Due process of law, or habeas corpus, is guaranteed to all persons in the United States. To purposely target veterans is an abomination.
