LTC Greg Henning - Without a doubt. For example, the most commonly used IOT (Internet of Things) standards are just now starting to get security built in. For most cases the "things" are only secured to the extent that they are kept on networks that are not externally visible. As I'm sure you can guess there are probably a lot of mistakes there. Not to mention all the cameras most of us have on phones, tablets, computers and other entertainment systems just waiting to be compromised. It's been a long time since I've been in the military and I'm homing commanders don't let the relatively unsecure civilian electronics anywhere near the battle area.

The whole thing is an ongoing escalation between those trying to secure systems and those trying to break in. Feels a bit like a game of "Whack a Mole".
