Not good. My youngest boy is TDY there from Alaska with their jets. I'll have to see if they heard about it.

TSgt David L. - The legend goes: During the Korean war, as Kunsan was about to be overtaken, the ground crews loaded, fueled and launched every aircraft at the base. The pilots formed up and immediately flew to Japan without defending or helping to repel the enemy. The ground personnel who did not die defending were tortured and hanged by meat hooks in a hangar and left to die. For their cowardly actions, they were made to take the ZZ Tailflash and are called the "Last Squadron". They are supposedly banned from being stationed on American soil until they redeem themselves in combat. The hangar is still there at Kunsan.

MSgt Stephen Council - legend, yes, truth, no.
TSgt LaPointe, yes, your boy would've heard about it. JASDF picked up pilot & transported to USNHO. Upgraded to fair condition & med-evaced to CA last week. Return to flying status expected.

MSgt (Join to see) - Yeah, he said their jets were still flying since they have F-22s. It does sound like the pilot will be fine and as you said return to duty soon.
