F-35 ‘Not Out Of Control’: F-35A Prices Drop 5.5%

So let me get this strait, it is $13,500,000,000 cost overrun over the initial cost? The R and D is money that will never be got back. The check has been cut for those overruns. The 5.5% drop is in the actual airplane cost. These planes were to cost $45mil each. If (and that is a big "IF") they come in at the estimated cost average cost of $100mill they are no where near what they are supposed to cost. So they raise the price by 122% and then give a discount of 5.5%. I am not a General or anything, but that sounds like a fucking travesty in my book.

Don't forget our friends the Chinese (Not the Taiwanese!) stole the plans in 2009. So they have been working on ways to shoot it down before we even had one in the air. Luckily the did not get much since this piece of shit just fired it's first live missile shot 3 months ago and still can fire its gun.

I bought a used Mercedes once. I had to spend $1000s to keep it going. I had so much money tied up in it I was going to lose my ass if I sold it. There came a day where I finally had to say enough is enough. I drove to the car dealer and cut my losses. It's time for Lockheed to start paying for their fuck ups or we get rid of this turd.

It sure did seem out of control. I think we'll see the pricetag reigned in even more now that someone who is willing to take a personal look at costs has already attacked spending is coming to power.
They could've solved this a long time ago hy building it for particulars, not as a Swiss Army knife.
