Sad if this is true; this will not end well in my opinion.
The most expensive aircraft ever designed, will have corners cut in order to finish development??

At least the Army in its development fiascoes has the guts to cut programs that aren't working or are over budget, i.e. the Sergeant York Anti-Aircraft tank, Crusader self-propelled howitzer, and the Future Combat Systems.

The Air Force keeps putting money down the toilet with the F-35, when advances in the F-15 and F-18 would have sufficed for the US's multi-role combat aircraft: ground-based or carrier-based. One aircraft cannot be designed to the air-to-air and air-to-ground, & close air support roles effectively IMO. What you get is an aircraft that is lacking effectiveness in one or more areas.

You would think the hovertank spoof in the movie Sergeant Bilko was a spoof. Now, it's probably closer to the truth. This is a very sad situation and I believe pilots or what the military calls aviators, soldiers or Marines are going to die because of this!

Not a great thing to do, cutting corners can lead to disaster.

Well let's take a wait and see attitude on this. Entire article seems intended to stir up passions of non fliers and the anti-F-35 camp. Any flier knows there are deficiencies and then there are deficiencies. An aircraft 781 can be inches thick with discrepancies that are known but do not prevent the aircraft from being flyable. A true deficiency that is unsafe puts an aircraft in a Red X status and that aircraft cannot be flown until that issue is cleared but that doesn't mean that every other write-up will prevent the aircraft from being flown and being combat ready.
