To be fair, ground systems can be much more robust, utilizing more signal acquisition methods than aircraft systems.

SSgt Ryan Sylvester understood. I just have great reservations about this frame. it has been, what, 15 years? And the damned thing still doesn't quite work right? I don't understand why we halted the F-22, which is far superior in the air. The F-35 could've been the successor to the F-16, if they had just focused on having it be that from the beginning, not some magical Swiss Army knife of the skies.

SSgt (Join to see) - Oh, believe me, I'm right there with you. This aircraft has never gotten the bugs even close to worked out. And now, they're still finding more, new bugs before the old ones get solved. Optimal design, no rly.
