Faith Hope Love 03: Understanding Hope - True Patriot Ministries

I see you like to fish so let’s use that for a moment. We know that if we don’t have the right rod, reel, and tackle for what we are trying catch. Now, we can pick up books and magazines to learn tips and tricks to increase our success but if we don’t have that person in our life that is successful and has knowledge and experience fishing, then our struggle to succeed will be greatly increased. We tend to throw tantrums, get mad and break a rod, throw tackle box in the water, things like that, because we are serious and have a great desire for success. It’s the same with the Word of God. I came to Jesus late 2010 and after a year and 2 different churches, I found the the pastor that I was called to sit under. And I discovered how hungry I was for the Lord and that I can learn and develop that relationship with the Father through the Son. I discovered that because of Jesus I am worthy, I don’t have to become worthy. In 11/2016 we moved back help my stepdad who was dying of cancer and put 2,200 miles between us and our pastor. In May 2020 I received ordination as a minister and I still talk to my pastor on the phone weekly for a couple hours. Jesus paid the price for you, His actions have made you worthy but you have to receive Him as your Lord and Savior and give Him a chance to work in your life. I don’t know what kind of “rod, reel, tackle you are using or who is coaching and mentoring you in the Word or how you received salvation etcetera. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit aren’t trying to get a complicated message to us, it’s actually quite simple and, honestly, it takes man to complicate it. Leave the Old Testament alone for now and get to know Jesus and the Holy Spirit through the New Testament, you will come to know the Father through Jesus and then, when you know and understand His nature, you can dig in to the Old Testament.
