I have no knowledge of the validity of what happened when or where, but as your statement confirms that an offer was made to stay long enough to provide some small measure of continuity until D.C. could stand down, it seems strange that if Gen Schwartz really didn't want to leave in the middle of the D.C. threatcon alert I would have to wonder why he didn't take it (even if it was offered after the replacement was announced). No disrespect intended but if you say you don't want to leave mid fight, get offered an opportunity to at least conclude that particular engagement (even after your replacement is announced) and you don't take it, I have to wonder just how committed you were to your claim that you don't want to leave mid fight.

Try again. According to MG Schwartz and staff, the offer by Trump Team to stay on a few more days after the inauguration came after the initial news broke that he was informed by them that he was being replaced 20 JAN. So negative news coverage caused the Trump Admin to change their story. That's not Fake News, your Gateway Pundit is Fake News.

DC National Guard general's exit is disputed
Nothing is simple in Washington, especially during a presidential transition.

MSgt James Mullis - There were two articles posted by WaPo (and other news orgs) the first being the initial info and the second being the follow up after the Trump team got a lot of flak and the asked him to stay on a few extra days (see my comment above) of which he said thank you but no as everything is/was handed over and it made no sense to mess that up..........

MAJ James Woods
MSgt James Mullis - Actually him vacating his office mid-day 20 JAN falls in line with all the other Obama appointees who were told by Trump's Transition Team to vacate their offices by 1200 on Jan 20th. So I'll state it again, WaPo's first article wasn't biased and the follow up articles weren't biased but the article titled "Fake News" is indeed biased with intent to discredit any media that criticizes actions of Trump or members of his administration. And I will call out those biased websites like Gateway Pundit that have actually pushed fake news in the past.

MAJ James Woods - I'll concede that it would be more accurate to replace the term "fake news" with the more traditional terms of yellow journalism or targeted propaganda. And I will continue to call out those biased news organizations who use yellow journalism, targeted propaganda, and even fake news to smear the 45th President of the United States.

And I'll do the same but fortunately all the embarrassing or controversial coverage is supported by actual video and audio of the 45th President. But when that bit of yellow journalism start to show, I too will condemn it.
