Weezy is an anxious dog, and no one knows quite why. He was dropped off at an animal shelter in Alberta, Canada. The tiny Italian greyhound was frightened of everything when he arrived: people, squeaky toys, even tiny insects like flies.
The first family who adopted Weezy brought him back to the shelter the next day because of his nervous tendencies. However, Sarah Mavro heard about little Weezy and drove two hours just to adopt him.
Sarah was sure she could help the frightened dog. Weezy needed to have all but two teeth removed, which is why his tongue adorably hangs off the side of his mouth. After the surgery, Sarah worked on his anxiety.
The dog was so fearful, he didn’t bark until after Sarah had him for three years. The pet owner says one thing helped loosen up Weezy: her baby Evan.
The 7-month-old has a calming effect on Weezy, who is willing to cuddle up close to the tiny baby.
Sarah says Weezy is an unusual dog. While still timid, he is a good fit for the family.
