I would vote this posting as posted and its comments down for a number of reasons:
1. SFC Thomas's comment, to wit: "Would you feel bad for these Trump voters or did they get what they asked for?" WHO said that they (the Syrian family) voted for President Trump? Editor's Note: A conversation on Wednesday with an attorney for the Assali family clarified they did not vote for President Donald Trump, although they could legally vote and did support him.
2. This video interview is a typical 'bait and switch' propaganda hit piece, why, it states nothing in the title about the IRANIAN students plight and the IRANIANS take up at least 2 minutes of the 2 minutes and 32 seconds of the clip. The Syrian family on the other hand (who happens to be in the title and title header) only get about 20 seconds and they are not even interviewed in the clip.
3. The written article covers only the Syrian family and has nothing to do with the majority of the video clip. This is why so many middle of the road and right leaning individuals no longer trust the MSM (main stream media).

I do feel sorry for the Syrian family and what they went through because of entrenched bureaucrats making a political statement (not all of us are so gullible).

The main part of the article is decent reporting, but so many people today, both in and outside the US, DO NOT READ the text of an article ONLY the HEADLINE, and any editorial BS that may be with the headline/title. Or they only watch a portion of a video clip.

Information overload and personal instant gratification is killing intellect.

Here is a better article that appears to properly cover most of the individuals involved in the Philadelphia news conference. The title/headline is poor, but the article appears to be well done.

Good order, poorly executed. There are provisions for exceptions, but there wasn't time to request those exceptions. Anyone that has gone through the formal process to immigrate to completion should have been excepted.

If Obama wasn't managing Syria like Hitler managing the Spanish Civil War.......we would not be here to begin with.

So, what is your answer? Yes you would feel sorry for them or no they got what they voted for.

SFC (Join to see) - Well first, they didn't vote and second most immigrants go through this process, this doesn't only happen to the Syrians it happens to Indians too. It's how our Immigration process works even without Donald Trump as President. So no I do not feel sorry for them as it happens regularly to other ethnic groups and they put up with it in order to get here. It's pure fantasy land that everything works perfect with immigration even with countries we are at peace with. It works flawlessly sometimes and other times this happens. This happens and has been happening long before Trumps Executive order....have you ever dealt with Customs or ICE before when traveling across our border?

SFC (Join to see) - So here is the point I am trying to make. Spent all my life in Information Technology and have dealt a lot with first generation immigrants from Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi, India, Pakistan, etc. ICE and Customs both have some really big a-holes working for them. We have had to call overseas, Canada and U.S. Airports more than once to get folks into this country because the ICE or Customs guy was being a real azzhat. For the media to portray this as only happening because of the Trump Executive Order is a fairly major distortion of what happens day to day at the border or border entry point. We have had Palenstinians denied entry that had to get Executives of my former company on the phone to straighten it out. Egyptians (they used to run the Hotels.com website, BTW) denied entry because of unrest in Egypt, etc. These kinds of border snafu's happened long before Trump and will happen long after he is gone. Our entry proces has never been problem free and is filled with glitches and part of the reason is because the Customs and ICE folks are not the sharpest people on the face of the Earth. Other issues are because the idiot first generation immigrants are not always diligent about keeping their paperwork in order.

When I was living in Detroit I used to have to cross the border into Canada as a shortcut to upstate NY or to go gambling in Windsor before it was legal in Detroit. Border Patrol there were real jerks and at times treated me worse than the East Germans at the Inner German Border when it existed. So if you have an image that all Border Patrol are nice and accomodating....get that out of your head. Some are like the Gestapo. And they know if you complain about them.......nothing will happen to them. Which is part of the issue and just encourages them to be jerks sometimes.
