But would the farmer rather have fair trade? Some countries jack up the import taxes on US products to make ours cost more. We need to get through this trade war...and win. Heck, if the citizens can not support their country during a trade war...wonder how they will be when we are in a shooting war??

Well farmers weren’t complaining about overseas trade with China and Europe before. They were content. It was other US producers of exportable goods that had issue. Farmers got caught in the crossfire and the idea of taxpayers bailing them out is ridiculous. Some Americans tend to support a trade war when it doesn’t impact them just like politicians support a shooting war as long as they and their family members don’t have to fight. I call that faux patriotism.
