The Justice Department would only confirm that the method used to hack Farook’s phone worked on that one phone, an iPhone 5c running a version of Apple’s iOS 9 operating system.
“It’s premature to say anything about our ability to access other phones at this point,” a law enforcement official told reporters on Monday.
But, the official added, “We intend to continue assisting [state and local officials] in appropriate cases.”

I don't know why the FBI keeps making it a point that they're hacking phones. Do they need to broadcast it out as an "in your face" to Apple?

At this point, FBI should keep this out of public light. Apple on their end should find a solution to further secure their devices. If the FBI can crack into Apple's mobile devices, who knows what other black hat can do to your mobile devices.
They are simply exposing that Apple's device is indeed breakable. As a fellow Apple product user, Apple needs to "step up their game" or they may lose support from stakeholders.
