Personality, conscience, and emotions all are functions of the brain. When certain things are wrong with the brain, then things end up wrong with personality, conscience, and emotions. Article stated his father had been diagnosed as being psychopathic. Wonder if he inherited a brain defect.

Furthermore, I wonder/speculate if terrorism has more to do with psychopathy than with ideology. In other words, a psycho looks for rationalization and finds it in some religious or political ideology and then acts after having found that rationalization/justification. So, violently-crazy would be driving it more than ideology. As far why as some ideologies are characteristic of terrorists than other ideologies, I suspect it is because certain ideologies can be more easily interpreted by psychopaths as rationalizing their behavior than other ideologies. That would also explain why so many adherents to the same ideologies never commit terrorism. In the case of someone who is so far gone that they don't even need rationalization/justification, then they have no need for an ideological affiliation in order to summon the will to commit their atrocities.

The 4th Estate doesn't care about triggering "copycat killers", that just gives them more sensational things to report.

Sadly, nothing new in the report.

Thanks for sharing it though.

Yep. It comes down to "We don't have any more certainty than we had a few months after the mass-murder. He killed those people because he wanted to, but we don't really know why he wanted to".
