Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on May 6, 1933 President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed "an executive order creating the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The WPA was just one of many Great Depression relief programs created under the auspices of the Emergency Relief Appropriations Act, which Roosevelt had signed the month before. The WPA, the Public Works Administration (PWA) and other federal assistance programs put unemployed Americans to work in return for temporary financial assistance. Out of the 10 million jobless men in the United States in 1935, 3 million were helped by WPA jobs alone."
This single act brought many to depend on the government for their almost everything.

TSgt Joe C. I really like the history behind FDR and what he had to go through as a President. I'm almost ashamed at how we act as a people today and how we disgrace the position of the presidency. I'm sick of the news, the government we elected and how it's acting, and the American people. The world is watching why we disgrace the position of the Presidency. It started back as long as I can remember (John F Kennedy). Very Sad - I turn the news off completely now.
