When does an asylum seeker cease seeking asylum? When they reach asylum, of course. The next question is, What is "asylum"? Simple. Asylum is a place offering safety and protection. Next, safety and protection from what? Natural disaster? Political oppression? Are these things happening in Mexico? Not that I've heard of. Thus, anyone who reaches Mexico has reached safety and protection. Why then are we negotiating their safe transit into the US?

Don't you think Trump should ask for asylum? After many political coups and attempted murder he sure qualifies if anyone does.
