I remember when Obama backed a foreign car company called “Fisker”. The car batteries caught fire burning down homes etc. Fiskers went bankrupt costing tax payers millions of dollars. It would appear Chevy Bolts are now tainted. I wonder if tax payers are going to have to bail out GM again if GM keeps having these problems?

Electric vehicles are problematic. We've gotten out ahead of the technology in mandating them.

I think it is ill conceived . Greenies are pushing energy resources that are unreliable to power unreliable vehicles.

Electric cars existed as long as gasoline powered ones did. What won the market for gasoline powered cars was overcoming the manual starting problem of the hand crank in the front. It was replaced with the electric starter that we know today in cars all makes. Prior to that, electric cars were on par with gasoline powered cars in the market. Planned obsolescence however makes whichever product used would have to be full replaced every couple of years.
