SGT (Join to see) Okay, so here is what's not fair. I had a tax prepare (HRBLOCK) prepare my taxes the year after I got divorced...I never did it on my own previously...anyway, she made a mistake and I ended up owing taxes...but not really because of her mistake...I, not knowing I owed money...but not really owed it because of her mistake, went on my merry way....this was 1998....one day in 2005 I went to the ATM and my card would not work. I called USAA and they informed me my accounts have been frozen by the IRS...I'm like WHAT?!?!?!? So I call the IRS...and find out it's from the 1998 Tax return...I only owed a whooping $1300...which I really didn't owe...I called my dad...emailed my return...he went over it and found the mistake...made the correction and I sent it into the IRS....the IRS said TOO BAD...it's been OVER THREE YEARS and therefore you cannot amend your returns...EVEN THOUGH H&R Block made a mistake and the IRS actually owed me $4000 that year....I had to pay the $1300 and the penalties which by 2005 went up to $4900!! can you believe this crap!?!?! So I didn't file 1999 through 2005...I sent all of my W2's to my dad and he prepared all of the years and each year I had a refund due of between $4900-$5700....I sent them all into the IRS...and the IRS said...TOO BAD SO SAD...we can only go back three years... YOU ARE SHIT OUT OF LUCK...should have filed your returns.....So not only did I have to pay $1300 that I owed, but I had to pay the WHOLE $4900 THAT I REALLY DID NOT OWE to the IRS after I was able to prove that H&R Block made a HUGE mistake.....and the IRS took this money from my 2002 return...then they turned around and gave me a check for $11,900....OH MY GOD! I HATE THE IRS!!!!1 and it's total BULLCRAP that you can only go back 3 years...so the IRS got to keep all of that money that is REALLY MINE. WHAT KIND OF BULLCRAP IS THIS?!?!?!?!

Sgt Kelli Mays, They suck, period. We're paying money back from last year because I received all of my savings from a company I worked for. It was six figures, and the company would only pay the whole amount instead of sending me monthly payments. So they took out almost 30K in income taxes. The end of the year rolls around and we took our stuff to a CPR we have used for years. She combined the monthly payments were were getting, and the balance of the entire sum, after taxes we already paid, and we ended up owing another 8K. We won't have to file this year. Anyway, I called the IRS last week to get an idea of how much more we had to pay to settle up with them. I called four phone numbers I was given. Each time I called one of the numbers I had to wait, then would be given another number to call. I'm on the phone like at least two hours, and I called the last number I was given. I went through all the fricken answers they wanted on the computer idiot you get when you first call anywhere now. I was finally transferred to to the department I was told, was the department I needed. A human answers right away, and I'm thinking, cool, I can finally get and answer. This after a total of three hours. I'm very hard headed. Anyway, I explain what I was calling about, and the girl tells me that I can't get an answer over the phone. I have to download a form off the fucking computer and mail it in, then some time over the next 4to 6 weeks I'll get an answer in the mail. I told that girl she could shove that form in a place the sun don't shine and the entire IRS system is totally F'd up, and I hung up. I was so pissed I was beside my myself. So, I get an email from the IRS wanting me to give an evaluation of how I was treated and did they answer all my questions. I just deleted it. I have another story but it would take too long to explain it. Besides, I gotta go take another chill pill after talking about this story. LOL
