It is long overdue in my opinion. I pray God be with her and that she does the rest if us females proud. Israel has had females in the battlefields forever. The IDF females have died and served with honor right alongside the men. I do not dare become obnoxious and say a female can truly match a male in brut force strength. Intelligence wise, yes. And them weapons don't have any idea a female is pulling the trigger! If I had my way in this country, every male and female upon graduation, would owe this country, at least basic training in one of our branches! Israelis owe two years! No wonder these generations are so fallen and easily deceived. Sowing wild oats is NOT what they need!!! Discipline and to learn respect for the cost of their freedom, and something that makes them belong and feel proud is what they need! So sorry for my soapbox! I can just imagine the responses this opinion of mine will receive.

I've said this once and I'll say it again, if a woman can complete the same training as her male counterparts, then she's earned her spot. A lot of people on RP may not agree with it but welcome to the 21st century, people. It's not your great-granddaddy's military anymore and if a woman can pass muster, who are any of you to judge?

A waste of limited resources.
Great for her.
Not the military tho.
Unfortunately, GI Jane was a movie, not a real plausible venue in reality to mission capabilities.
One Army one standard then.
Hefty price tag for a few whom MIGHT make it.
