Probably the least known theater of WWII - and yet it was one of the most critical . Excellent article on Slim and the 14th Army and their drive into Burma that broke the spine of the Japanese Armies and destroyed it division by division in some of the toughest fighting of the war.

What about the Russians charging into Manchuria and killing 600,000 soldiers? They also definitely broke the back of Japan.

Probably the most critical item overlooked in WWII history - both the smashing wholesale of the Japanese Army in Northern China and their rapid taking of the Northern Islands. But it was later in 1945,,,, Russia had yet to enter the Pacific war when the IJA overstretched its lines to try to take India in the battle of Imphal.... and then the story of the article of what happened afterwards.
