Wow! I couldn't disagree more. Yes, a photographer may have a couple of "niches", but never more. There exists an abyss between architectural photography and sports photography. Indeed, each sport has its own needs. The photographer must be practiced to attune to the climatic point of action which can vary widely from sport to sport. They also need different types of equipment. Architectural photographers need cameras that can compensate for parallax. Sports photographers? Not at all. There there are portrait photographers vs scenic photographers. Same differences. On needs a studio, the other needs open spaces. I could go on and on. Why? Because I directed photographic shoots with some of the best photographers in the nation while working in advertising and public relations.
