It was clearly stated by the President what the concerns were with the policy which I might add the last Administration implemented and really didn't have to live with. My interpretation of the remarks was the concern was over training capacity being eaten up by implementation of the policy and medical costs and both are legitimate concerns. Having said that, if you read Ash Carters regulations on acceptance of Trans Gender recruits it was NOT really an acceptance it was pretty carefully written more to tolerate enlistments than accept them with open arms. In fact when Ash Carter rolled out the policy, already the Media started to harp on him that the Military should pay for all surgeries unconditionally (versus the very limited Pentagon policy). So I also see concern over the slippery slope here with medical costs with this specific group not to mention the associated mental issues some of them might carry with them.

As for how it was implemented I see almost no difference in the Obama administrations implementation without any debate to the Trump administrations revokation without debate...........Both implementation and revokation were done with little if any planning or investigation and both were handled without much thought before hand.

Why should my tax dollars go for surgeries or hormones? Why the hell should I have to sit through hours of training regarding trans issues? Why should female Soldiers have to be forced to have a FULLY intact male in their showers? And vice versa? Because that is all it took you know. Just go to DEERS and tell them that you're identifying as the opposite sex, and bingo; you're in a different barracks using different showers.
I feel like everyone is only looking at this from the point of view of how everyone is being insensitive to the trans population. Why exactly, does the opposite not hold true as well? Why is the majority of people, not mentally ill, the collective bad guys here?
