COL Mikel J. Burroughs
SP5 Mark Kuzinski - That is awesome - those long distance trips always take it out of me!

FYI the place where this incident took place was French Indochina. Vietnam did not exist until the mid-1950s.
It was fatally foolish for Lt. Col. Peter Dewey to yell back in French to the Viet Minh soldiers manning the roadblock SP5 Mark Kuzinski. He was well aware that (1) the French soldiers had been recently re-liberated from being Japanese POWS; (2) the British evicted the Viet Minh from their offices and (3) there was deep resentment that Ho Chi Minh and many of those who were part of the Viet Minh had fought against the Japanese occupiers on the side of the allies and expected that they would be able to have their nation liberated from French colonial rule.
