I've posted elsewhere that this is the slippery slope that IMO will lead to a push to retire the entire fleet before the B-21 is operational. The fleet will be too small and costly to maintain in a couple of years. Saw it with my F-111s, A-10s and many other aircraft.

On point. The short term thinking is that replacing, with more expensive planes, is preferable over combat proven platforms. Course, I suspect the new woke military thinks drones are the real cost saving platform of the future.

And yet the B52 is still flying. Wasn't the B1 going to mothball that weapon system? New and exotic- plus more expensive doesn't always make it better.
