CAPT Rodney Clark agreed. Awful situation all around. And it should not be broadcast in the media until the results are final.
I just wish that as King Tut of his boat, he’d step forward and say, “it’s on me. No need for a trial. Get 10 destroyer Commanders who know exactly what’s going on, and I accept their punishment.”
That’s a quality lacking in the military today. Just accepting that sometimes, sh*t goes horribly sideways, and sometimes, your name is on the bottom line. When it happens, stand up, put your juniors behind you, and say “punish me.”
They’ll get theirs, too. But punishment is the opposite of eating. In awful situations like this, Senior-most should go first.
