I stumbled across this flick some yrs ago, it's a pretty weird film, though one I just thought you all might care to glance at. The ending is pretty incredible, actually; the similar film plot with John Travolta a few yrs ago is actually pretty inferior, overall, in my view. Pls understand, the film is far from perfect, both as to terminology, as well as with regard to some other details. However, I think of this film as rather equiv in some ways to The Bedford Incident, which, though in some ways a facile comparison, I do nevertheless think a valid one. Now, at the same time, the characterizations in the movie, leaving aside for the moment total military accuracy, as to dialogue and some other aspects, are, to my mind, taut, tense, thrilling, macabre in many ways, and, in fact, in sevl regards, utterly first rate. So much so, in fact, that I've always thought this one of, in at least some relevant ways, one of the very best and most thought provoking military films I've ever seen, even if total fiction. I've always, for all those reasons, deemed it very highly underrated, and the air to air footage is actually, from what I can tell, quite good, fascinating in some regards, in fact. In any event, I just thought this film a "must" for all you military film aficionados, who might care for something very decidedly off beat, as it were. I'd be most eager to know the thoughts of anyone who's seen it, or does, trust me, if you haven't seen it, the ending very definitely, at least to me, though fictional, of course, very definitely didn't disappoint, at least to my mind, honest, enjoy, many thanks.
