My children are college age now with two taking online classes at a local college. But I can't help to see the headlines and facebook posts about opening schools. Here in Southern California, Orange County Board of Education says schools need to open with no restrictions to kids. They don't mention teachers but I read that there was protective gear of some sort for them. How much are the children at risk? We are talking about 5 year olds all the way up to 18 years. That is big difference. I can see high school as distance learning but will that work in junior high and elementary schools? And what about the teachers and staff? Are they safe? I know people want things to be back to the way they were but what if that's not possible this coming school year? What is virtual learning is the way? Are we on board with that? I feel like its the person who won't let go of cassette/VHS tapes while we advance to streaming music/movies. I am seeing and hearing from others that parents are looking into private schools as an option to not put their kids in a classroom. I continue to monitor my area to see what happens. Thanks for sharing this article.
