Although we can’t be physically there, I think the pandemic allows for more he to see these graduations. Typically, graduations are limited tj the number of people who can attend; however, a virtual graduation can be unlimited depending on the platform used. This is exciting to me as I look forward to seeing a special young lady graduate. I served as her ASVAB tutor and personal trainer for almost a year. She’s now like famiky.

I agree. Many graduates celebrate with others whose families are unable to attend. My battle buddy was from Kansas. My family is from Texas. Neither of us had a single family member attend our graduation from Basic. Same for Airborne, DLI, and AIT. Not a soul.

When my son graduated High school in May, it was the best one I have experienced and I have been to many graduation ceremonies. All the kindergarten ones, the 8th grade ones, High School's, and regular college ceremonies upon completion of Bachelor's degrees. My husband earned an Associate's, a Bachelor's, three Master's, including a 90 hour M. Div and Doctorate from Dr. King's alma mater. I was always proud of my graduate, but when the graduation has to be held in a sports arena, that is a lot of waiting...

Sorry not a lot of pity for them. Look at the folks that have arrived at their 1st unit and been deployed away. It's the nature of the beast, you get stronger or you go home.

Weird. My family was not at graduation and went through a four month school right after. Had leave before first duty station and stopped by home on the way.
