I always maxed the PT tests when I served. If you're training hard, and it is a unit priority, I think everyone should do well. We did a minimum of two to five miles every morning including calisthenics unless we were doing over twelve mile road marches. If you train for this test, I don't see any problems with passing it.
I want to see flag officers doing the same test to the same standards. Remember, if they can't pass it "there's no place in this army for them."

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - Haha! I was being just a bit sarcastic about flag officers just because of the tone of the article. Can you imagine a general like Schwartzkopf having to pass the same test as an eighteen year old? Maybe Army Secretary Mark Esper should have to pass it as well since he is in charge of those being sent to war. By the way, I have done quite of few infantry division runs where the CG was leading the way.

SGT (Join to see) Don't know what they have now but we did have adjustments based on age for AF PT tests, and yes the general was out there with us occasionally.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - In the article it said there are no adjustments for age! I understand the concept, but will we be putting good soldiers out because of it?

Reminds me of PT, PT and more PT during BCT at Fort Benning, Georgia. Morning runs before daylight and more PT after our short breakfast break. After eight weeks I was in the best physical condition of my life. THANK YOU DRILL SERGEANT !!! :-)

I've been through Benning a few times, and I'm trying to find something nice to say about it....maybe I'm glad I didn't do basic there, and it's not Ft. Polk? Harmony Church sucked both times I was there. Once with the WWII barracks and the last time with the "renovated" WTF is this WWII crap barracks.
I didn't get that blue piece of braided 550 Cord they put on their arm, nor those blue food trays on their lapels. Maybe that's a good thing. I did get a blue ethernet cable and some crossed flintlocks tho

SSG Warren Swan - I know what you are talking about because I was at Harmony Church living in those old WW II barracks and red waxing those wood floors with the buffer for inspection in 1968. The other BCT area was Sand Hill. I was so glad when we marched by those reviewing stands with family members watching on graduation day. I was happy to leave that place for military police AIT at Fort Gordon.

SPC Woody Bullard - You're one crusty ass MP if you went to Gordon for school. I went to McClellan for MP school and you're the second MP I've met who went to Gordon. The first is 80+ yrs old retired 1SG Korea and Nam vet. Cool as a mofo tho. He was a hardcore biker and I really enjoyed when we rode together. It was truly fun. Are you a 95B or was there a MOS before the 95 was invented? Lost-n-the-Woods MP's are all 31's now.

SSG Warren Swan - Eight weeks MP AIT in B-10-4 at Brems barracks located
in what we called the horseshoe because all the MP barracks were in a horseshoe design around the street. I graduated the first part of March in 1969 and we all thought we were going to South Vietnam. I guess the army did not need more military police in Vietnam as almost all of us received orders for the Federal Republic of Germany. I was a 95B. Not sure when the change to 31B started. I spent 30 months protecting nuclear weapons at a NATO site in the FRG. We went on ground convoy and helicopter air missions with the nukes when they were moved to other sites in the FRG. I enjoyed my off duty time in Germany traveling through western Europe. I could not travel in East Germany or eastern Europe as the Soviet Union military was in those areas. Cold War time with the Russians.
