Sounds like the wheels of justice are rolling, perhaps slowly but they are rolling. I've no followed the case but if he did what is being alleged he should pay the price and then some. Framing someone with planted evidence after killing them is the worst of the worst of the worst.

This is how the system should work. A full investigation, follow the facts and let the truth come out.

I agree that a police department should not be responsible to investigate itself especially in the matter of a loss of life shooting. The crowd seems to have no interest in the truth and is not willing to wait for the result. That is the issue we are facing as well.

MCPO Roger Collins - if there is a federal violation, sure (and I know you're being sarcastic, but I'm not). I'm not in favor of the feds getting involved, it should be handled within the state system.

Cpl Jeff N. - In Columbus they had protests and a petition drive, but no violence or rioting. Perhaps this was because they believed that something would be done - it didn't take long for the officer to be fired, the MS SBI worked the investigation, etc. Here, they appeared willing to wait for the result.

SGT Efaw (Mick) G. My comment about he worst of the worst is the cops behavior. Killing someone in a bad shooting and trying to cover it up by planting evidence is the worst sort of police behavior imaginable (to me). I was not addressing the impact to the person killed and outcomes of that part of it. It is, of course, horrific and being framed by the very system there to serve and protect is a betrayal of the worst kind. The ripple effect of poor police behavior (especially in this significant of an event) is hard to estimate.
