And did he say were the funding was coming from? They can't supply decent health coverage as it is! I can see it now, a Veteran sitting a VA waiting room with 20 or so civilians? What can go wrong here?

The VA is a behemoth organization that provides veterans with substandard care. I worked as a Physicians Recruiter, after I got out of the military, providing care to the VA. The money they paid for VA doctors was a joke compared to what they could make working for any non government entity. We could not hire enough people because the pay was significantly lower. This caused the longer waits for care. Longer waits for service have cause many veterans to die while waiting for care. This is not what vets or the public need.

I have seen where the government has "thrown money" at the VA to fix it, but they need to throw the money in the right area. I witnessed it first hand as a physician recruiter.

To answer this question, the VA needs to be fixed before anyone can truly be proud to use it.
