The Problem with an Ancient Bldg Like this all the Metal Work, Roof Drainage and the Such was All Made of Lead. Melted and Went Everywhere.

Lead. They didn't know and made some historic stained glass windows using lead.

I am not sure why they are surprised. This was done well before lead problems were seen.

Yeppers, live in government housing and have lead. This was the go-to paint for years.
