Very good article and definitely the most important takeaway is to know your audience! Who's going to read this resume? Am I talking in a language they understand? We sometimes assume we are writing plainly but we aren't and I learned this when working at the Department of State where I assumed their culture would be similar yet it was a beast of its own where even some of my new coworkers were happy to have me as they thought I'd be able to function as a "translator" of sorts for my other coworkers who were retired colonels, majors and senior enlisted. Gotta always place yourself in the employers shoes and try to ascertain what they want before they want it to so as to stay ahead which is a task we military are prepared for yet surprises us when we leave the structured military environment we are used to. Culture shock will happen and the ability to adapt will be a huge advantage if you have no problems shifting your perspective as necessary. Hope you all get the jobs you desire and make the most out of these military experiences! In the end, it will have been worth every minute!
