Absolutely, all this talk about the CAS mission neglects the fact that the A-10 was designed as a Soviet tank killer. That mission fell by the wayside with the fall of the Soviet Union and the A-10grew into the CAS role. All potential adversaries have tanks and the A-10 can still kill them.
