"Ignorance slathered with...arrogance". I've got to admit that's the most concise phrase that captures the essence of the Trump campaign.

LTC (Join to see) - Colonel; Much as I hate to admit it, that is the "default" estimation of Americans that most natives of foreign countries have when they encounter Americans visiting their country. It takes time and effort to convince people who think that their country is great (for them) that you don't think that their country is a cesspool simply because it isn't the United States of America, its people aren't Americans, its language isn't "American English", and there isn't a Starbucks and/or McDonald's on every second corner.
The effort (which some people don't even try to pretend to be making) is almost universally worth it.

George Will has firmly planted his flag in the "non-Trump" camp. He did that a while ago and there he will remain. He is the consummate GOP establishment media guy and has been for a couple of decades now. He is no fan of Cruz either. While he has valid points about Trump he still fails to understand or accept why outsiders like Trump and Cruz have eviscerated the (his) establishment candidates. Any way you cut it, outsiders (Trump and Cruz) have over 70% of the GOP vote in the primaries and caucuses.
If Trump and Cruz could find a way to come together if neither of them have the 1200+ delegates in hand, they will rout the GOP establishment. Right now, the target is Trump. Actually the target is to ensure neither Trump nor Cruz arrives at the required delegate count. Since Trump is the front runner, he is the target. The establishment believes they can then wrest control of the process.
Trump and Cruz need to see the light, so to speak, and figure out, as outsiders, how to beat the insiders. I am not sure they can or will do that but that would make them unstoppable at the convention. That would be some great TV if it happened. I'd love to see some of the insiders like Karl Rove with his dry erase board explain that one.

Cpl Jeff N. - Corporal; The thought of Sen. Cruz standing up at the convention, withdrawing his name from contention, freeing all of his supporters, and endorsing Mr. Trump's nomination followed almost immediately by Mr. Trump endorsing Sen. Cruz as his preferred Vice-Presidential running mate. (Feel free to reverse the two if you want to.) Is something that no intelligent person would give a second thought to.
Of course, when Groucho Marx was asked what he thought of Marilyn Monroe the first time he met her his answer was "I never gave her a second thought.". When queried on that reply his response was "I was too busy with the first one.".

COL Ted Mc . One thing I have learned is to never say never Ted. This isn't about intelligence, it is about politics.
As the old saying goes, politics makes strange bedfellows (Charles Warner). I don't think it is highly likely but you have to admit, the GOP would be powerless to stop the two outsiders if it happened. Their combined delegates would make them unstoppable or if he GOP tried to bring in their own guy the party would effectively collapse. It would make for fantastic political theater.

Cpl Jeff N. - Corporal; In the event of that unlikely scenario actually happening, then the Republican Establishment would have the option to shut down the convention by fiat and destroy all of the ballots already cast. The other option, of course, would be to "go with the flow" (and hand the country to the Democrats [because the Republicans would likely lose "control" of both the House and Senate as well as not winning the Presidency {absent the emergency of a fairly disciplined bunch of "aggressive" 'S'upporters of 'A'merica}]).
The odds that there will NOT be a single firearm on the convention floor are astonishingly small.
