There is a lot of things more important that are not said in this article. First off is where is SOCNORTH - and what is its responsibilities in supporting an allied training mission? Why was that call not to them? Why did SOCNORTH not coordinate for the Germans with medical and local LEA? What is the role of the LNO at SOCOM in coordinating training in the US? While this article tries to paint one picture -- its the other one not said that is troubling -- and leaves alot of questions as to what is needed to fix this and save allies from it happening again. training here should always be welcome - but someone is responsible for the admin overhead coordination just as it would be for us training in another nation.

I doubt that an embassy is informed of their country's military training activities. The problem I see is where is the US Military and German liaison officers. These folks should have made sure all arrangements had been made for medical care if needed. Its theses folks responsibility to ensure no problems are encountered with the civilians before training even starts regardless of how many times this training had been conducted before.
