Wow, interesting Edward. It has been 28 years and change since the Berlin Wall fell. It has now been gone for as long as it was in place.

I was stationed in Berlin on October 1974 - October 1976.

MAJ Alvin B. The Death Knell, Writing on the Wall was already there when I was in London in 87. Shipmates from 7 North Audley St were already going over on Tours to Russia.

My official tour was cancelled due to the LaBelle Disco bombing.

Four tours in Germany, 70s and 80s before the wall cake down, and then in he 90s after. In many respects mid 80s were probably one of the most volatile.
