Thanks for reminding us about the epic and climactic battle of Gettysburg, PA which seemed to be a chance encounter which escalated into a major battle LTC Greg Henning like many engagements.
There was much valor in that battle, on both sides, and thankfully this was the final significant foray north of the Potomac River by the Army of Northern Virginia.

LTC Greg Henning, when I took the Command and General Staff Officer Course about a million years ago, Chamberlain, his leadership style and his impromptu tactics were studied in great detail in the senior military leadership class.
