Give The VA The Tools It Needs To Keep Its Promises

Outsource the treatment, I don't think they can change/rectify the attitudes of the entrenched VA staff. One man's opinion.

I hear you. All the tools in the world, to keep the VA on track, won't help those lousy ass attitudes. It's going to take some house cleaning to get that point across.

To get the personnel who are good and not staying in the military and they get the right $$ enticement (pay grade equivalent to their capability(ies) to work at VA.
Their endorsements would/should let those in charge know what kind of
Individual they are gaining. Of course it depends upon what kind of leader was their reporting official(maybe would.need to know what kind of person that person’s report’g Official is like.)the reporting official’ reporting official.. shame got to do s’thing like that.. a guy has two slackers over him.. what to do?
When I got to Grand Forks, ND from Travis AFB, I was asked why I wanted orders to Strategic Air Command .. I told them upper middle management and officer Mgt. was not the problem.. what was, was a Civilian GS 9 that tried to bring his Army ways with him.. He’d been a W.O. Somewhere and his style of Mgt was wrong for the AF.. we had an extensive conversation.. I had little or no faith in his leadership or mgt capability(ies). I was a SSGT and did SSGT type duties .. lead a shift in preparing sustenance for meals and over-seeing preparation of special diet nutritional support items for patient consumption... not going to the grounds shed to get a lawn mower to cut grass.
We had Airman Personnel on grounds maintenance to do that.. I made him aware of that .. “ Harrumph ! What are you telling me SSGT.? “ “I’m suggesting you call hospital grounds maintenance and tell them what you need ! It appears you are incapable of handling that command decision, Mr. L__________! I did an about face and walked out of 4x4 his closet of an office.. I was asked was anybody else present? A CMSGT, Chief! He had a good chuckle.. he refused to write me up and backed me.. it got back to that civilian Mgr what I did after I left. I drove to GF and reported in and turned in all the 30 days leave and 3 days of travel time. ...
He called me at GF to give me an earful.
I listened to about 3 minutes of his diarrhea mouth and lead the hand set on it’s side and told the 1SGT he could have his phone back, I was done with it.. that guy thought he would auger me a new rectum.. The Commander had what he said on speaker box.. and finally said s’thing.. I’d left already.. Cmdr had my ‘6’ And gave the GS 9 an earful . He wrote that GS 9 up for what he allegedly said he’d Do discipline wise to me.. I heard about it later and had a good chuckle over it.. I never heard anymore from him.. if he called again they never
Informed me, they just handled it..
They learned of my work ethic and
Wholly approved.. my team and I worked together.. partied together at times..
That GS 9 tried to change an earlier evaluation .. I’d already received 8s & 9s
And a General officer endorsement (regarding my Honor Guardwork[ extrAcurricular activity
To a lower eval. The gs9 said my honor guard activity got in the way. .. The commander sent it back to my Former Cmdr. Asked if he was aware of what went on... turned out he didn’t.. My cmdr said he wasn’t accepting either way.. The GS 9 who looked forward to a upgrade, got froze.. I read about a disciplinary action carried out against a civilian mgt. person at the AF hospital for unauthorized
Adjustment to an Airman’s performance report. Not sure if mine or not they were relating to... maybe, The dates awful close. A bud in my old section at DGMC
Sent me the article and let me know it was that GS that got in trouble .. hmm that was interesting.. the guy literally hung himself on paperwork.... hmmm, i’ll Give it a sprout.. it may still be heresy.. let it go..
