Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on April 27, 2009 spokesmen of the struggling American auto giant General Motors (GM) said it plans to discontinue production of its more than 80-year-old Pontiac brand.

I hate the passing of the Pontiac. Last GM car I bought. Went to foreign cars and never looked back. Had a man talk bad about me and the foreign cars but I worked for a foreign company.

This has been a sad decline in American industry. Look what we've lost since the 1980s. American Motors, Plymouth, Oldsmobile, Saturn, Hummer, Mercury and very sadly Pontiac. I used to say that Buick cannot be saved by Tiger Woods. Buick used to be a car company had one of the fastest cars in the 1916 early seventies with the Buick GSX. Buick was embarrassed when they're Grand National or GNX beat the Corvette. I don't think very highly of Buick but I really think highly of Pontiac because they came out with his revolutionary cars even until the end. The Pontiac Firebird, Trans Am, GTO, Fiero, and even their Solstice at the end of the line was different than other car makes. It seems now that all they cared about was getting rid of the car make because favoritism. I am an Oldsmobile fan that was proud of the Olds 442 the Oldsmobile Cutlass but I was sad at the end how old will be had gone to almost nothing except for some stupid little car called the Oldsmobile Alero which I thought was dumb. I was very disappointed when Pontiac went away.
