CW5 Jack Cardwell Thanks for the Memories/Nightmares. Watching CIWS Whip My Way and Dry Fire an Empty Ammo Belt. First Time I Heard it actually Fire while inside the Ship, the Unique Tearing Sound, I Thought the Skipper Ran the Ship Aground. Ah the Fun of Watching an SM-2 Missile do a Return to Sender and Self Destruct after Hitting the Water 60 Yards Out from Me and Shooting Shrapnel Past My Head. LOL!

I was on the range when a Shillelagh missile left the tube , hit the ground, and did a return to sender. Lucky it was a training warhead !
