I'm glad I don't live in Hawaii anymore! I'm also glad that I didn't own any guns while I was stationed there. I'm sure my name would still be on some list had that been the case.

I took mine there and took them away when I left. They were never registered in Hawaii

I guess that is the State's right. It is not denying the right to "keep and bare" arms for non-criminal citizens.
I don't like this but it is legal I think. I suppose this will eventually end up before the SCOTUS.

I've been wondering about that. I was living in Hawaii when the first version of Hawaii 50 was aired and produced. Everyone there was excited until they saw the show. Then when they realized that the islands were being portrayed as hell holes of crime and espionage, they began to worry how that image might affect tourism. The attitude turned south pretty quickly. However, one aspect of the show took hold. Everyone who could afford it began purchasing and driving Dodge Chargers with big block V8 engines. Inasmuch as there's no place on the islands to really "open them up" they quickly clogged with carbon deposits and chugged their way around the streets.

Anyone that has lived there (I was there '58 though 62) knows what a joke a high speed chase would be or a shootout on Hotel Street is. Now it's even worse.
