its not about guns, its about people that dont value human life, look at what happened in paris last night, if some one wants to kill, he will use what ever he can get his hands on, bomb, gun, knive, but in this case he decided to use a commercial truck. are you going to ban truck, no why not, he used it to kill more than 70 people. its time for people to see, killers are going to use what ever they can get. lets put god back in schools, get a handle on illegal drugs, they are a big problem, they are still illegal, why cant they stop the drugs? instead of going after guns, go after the people that are calling out for the senseless killings, let start going after the illegals in our country, lets get the mentally inbalanced people in hospitals. stop trying to take law abiding gun owners weapons

Well that's just precious however the artist forgot to mention there were two common elements; One was a gun true, the other were people. Try this experiment.
Step 1. Place gun on table.
Step 2. Step away and observe the gun.
If that gun kills someone all on it's own, then I will back any anti-gun legislation out there. Otherwise, this is a cute gimmick at best.

I have been saying this for a long time: as a nation we need to stop treating mental health as a joke. We need to be treating mental health as a serious medical condition. That will not eliminate suicide, but it could drastically reduce the number. Too long Mental Health has been seen as weakness. It makes it so that an individual does not seek help for fear of the stigma attached to it. That would be one means to help solve the problem.
A second thing is humanity. Society has devolved to a point where success is not a goal, and entitlement is the norm. This leads to a self centered way of thinking. Other people are obstacles, competition, or otherwise a detriment to the self interest. We have become so self interested that we have lost our humanity. A death, whether it is murder, suicide, self defense, military action, accidental, or other is only a tragedy if it is a celebrity. Otherwise it is just one less obstacle. We need to get back to where we actually care about our fellow man. If we can do that, it will also help to reduce the number of gun deaths.
Gun Control: Controlling who has access to the firearms one has in their home, safe gun handling, judicious marksmanship, and knowledge of laws pertaining to defensive use of force would help with the accidental gun deaths.

The reality of the situation is that in the end none of us are going to get out of life alive. We have a finite amount of time on this plane of existence. There will always be bad people who will always find a way to cause harm. Oklahoma City, Truck full of fertilizer. Atlanta Olympics pipe bomb. September 11th, box cutters and airplanes. Boston Marathon, Pressure cooker, ball bearings, nails, and fireworks. To go a step further Sandy Hook, Gun free zone, attack perpetrated with weapons that were stolen by the perpetrator from a relative, in a state with fairly strict gun control laws already in place. Banning a tool from law abiding citizens does not stop the criminal element from obtaining those tools. If one tool becomes ineffective, cost prohibitive, or not worth the hassle, other implements will be used to inflict harm on others by those intending to do so. When it comes to suicide, unless we intend to ban cars, rope, shoe laces, windows, buildings over one story tall, belts, knives, razor blades, medication, alcohol, bridges, water, and I could go on and on we are not going to ban the implements that have been used by people to commit suicide. It MUST be addressed at the human level. Which realistically is what ALL of the data on gun violence suggests. It is not a tool issue. it is a human issue. Let's deal with that, first. It won't happen though. It is not an easy solution. The easy solution is to ignore the problems and blame the tools.

Unfortunately the problem is America. Yup. America is the problem. America is the only nation that has a do-all/be-all fix. And unfortunately it can't be un-done. Allow me to explain...

You are accused of robbery and go to court. You are found innocent. You go home. You resume your life the next day.

Mental health? Not so. You are accused of being mentally unstable (MU), your weapons are taken away, your finances, car, etc. You get treatment and are certified "healed" by medicine. Are you able to get your life back? No. Therein lies the problem. It takes an act of God to get your MU status overturned. The same judge that took your gun away, had you committed, etc, is not the same judge that gives you your life back. Naturally in our vaginal-mesh-lawsuit-society where we sue for everything, doctors are the only ones that these MU lawsuits target.

So doctors are now loathe to declare **ANYONE** to be MU. This is why your Columbines, your Virginia Techs and your Colorado movie theaters are all taking place. Because no one wants to be hauled in to court six years later because of an MU diagnosis. Use Florida as an example: a couple of 17 year old high school kids who had sex on prom night are now "sexual predators" and although both are boy friend and girlfriend and married four year later and now work and have two kids, they must both register as predators. This means when both go for a job, apply for a loan, etc, they must put "predator" on the papers. No one wants that. So no doctor worth his hypocratic oath is going to jump in and "MU" people.

The system needs a severe overhaul.

How well has gun control and banning guns worked for Germany, France, Chicago, Seattle... The most goes on. How well has more lax gun laws worked for Texas, and the southern states except Florida.

PO3 (Join to see) - Hey leave my Florida Alone!!! It is not our fault that south of Lake Okeechobee is mostly snowbirds who bring their tree hugging hippie ideals with them!

More seriously, Gun control will never be an effective means of curbing gun violence. I am a firm believer in the philosophy that the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun and the resolve to use it.
