It's only been in the last 30 years or so that guns were removed from the schools. I went to High School in Fayetteville NC Class of 76, Maybe 4 miles from the FT Bragg boundary. The more rural of the students that drove pickups to school had gun racks in their trucks with loaded weapons in the racks. Being that close to Bragg and a lot of us Army/AF brats, we knew if the balloon went up we were prime targets, yet never once that I am aware of was a weapon brandished in anger. If you want to know what's happening Our Country right now read Saul Alinski's playbook for creating a socialist state. Remember this also, A socialist revolution has NEVER been a bloodless coup. I say arm anyone that wants one, Things would considerably more polite.

I went to high school in Mt Pleasant IA 1948-1952 and we carried shotguns and rifles in gun racks in the pickups. When we advertise a "gun free" zone we are just inviting the bad guys in. If a shooter knows he/she is facing an armed adversary it might just make them think again.

Exactly, but they preach the opposite and so many can no longer think for themselves.

Many more should offer same. When a "shooter" does not know how many guns he/she will face it might just slow them down and change their mind. Once they understand they are walking into an "ambush" I think they might turn tail and run.

This isn't the only one. I heard of another firearms training institute that was offering free training to school board presidents and leaders of PTA's -- not quite the same as offering free training to teachers, but still engaging with educators. (I don't want to be the one to tell any business it has to offer free services to anybody.)

Interesting the response to the instruction an teachers an school staff wanting to learn or improve on firearm handling and use. It would be interesting to hear from the teachers what their own thought are on this subject. Its too bad We even have to think this way.

It's the desire to not be helpless in a bad situation. Nothing wrong with that.

SSgt Christopher Brose - No argument with that, a lot of us as kids had our own firearms growing up, mostly rifles and shotguns. We never hurt anyone with them nor did anyone even worry about seeing us go down the street with a firearm. We all knew how to handle them properly and safely. It wasn't even a matter or protection, We didn't have all the fruit cakes running around trying to harm others.
