I own a repro Colt 1861 Navy; rebuilt the action with customized parts from a gunsmith, and the thing is like a Swiss watch in comparison to my modern side arm. My "long gun" is a .44 percussion rifle. I'm impressed with the accuracy, reliability and sheer beauty of weapons of this time.
