The attorney's letter is without facts. From what I gather from the web, Maj Burris was convicted of two counts of rape, one count of forcible sodomy, four counts of assault and one count of disobeying an order from a superior commissioned officer. Sentenced to 20 years and dismissal. Was found not guilty of charges including other alleged instances of assault, sexual assault, forcible sodomy and communicating a threat, the military said.
Defense lawyer claims those who testified lied. Witnesses lie oar tell half truths all the time. What matters are the statement of facts that support the charges. This is why the military legal system is better than the civil system. Members of the Court can consider evidence not directly presented at trial. This ability can help or hurt a defendant.
If William E. Cassara wants support of Maj Burris, then release the court transcripts.

the military courts have not considered evidence or lack there of since 2012 after the invisible war "documentary" came out the military has run its own version of the college title IX kangaroo courts. I understand why people do not want to belive this but it is the case.

I would be curious to know why the SJA ignored the recommendation to not refer the case? If it was political pressure he should be entitled to an appeal (I would think).
