I participate in 2 of these joint services exercise and I know from what I heard & read (I was in S-2) during the first one that the NKs were really upset over the exercises. The first one was during the fall (I think it was the fall) after the Pueblo incident. I arrived in Korea a few months after the Pueblo was captured. That was a strange time.

Something tells me there might be some partaking of alcoholic beverages when they get done there......just a wild guess.
