There were no insults. If someone suggested otherwise, they're either lying to your face or incredibly stupid.

Thanks to PO William Chip Nagel for posting the story about VP-elect Pence. Two thoughts on this issue:
1) It appears that Indiana wanted to recognize traditional marriage only (one man with one woman). The Federal Court stepped in and forced the citizens of Indiana to do something they apparently didn't want to do, recognize marriage other than one man and one woman. Like it or not, Federal Judges can legislate from the bench and did in this case, overriding the citizens of a state. I know same-sex marriage is a big deal to the LGBT community and I personally don't care if they want to enter into a legally binding relationship with one another. I hope state and Federal legislatures will find a way to differentiate between a traditional and Biblical institution called "marriage" and the public and legal joining of two people of the same sex. IMO the word "marriage" and its concept has been perverted by the LGBT community for the purpose of suppressing the freedom of religion of millions of Christians and others that believe marriage is between one man and one woman. (Yes, I know that many liberal Christian denominations have bent the knee to the LGBT community and recognized same-sex marriage.) Many people believe the LGBT life style is a sin. Not necessarily greater than other sins such as theft, murder, adultery, lying, but a sin none the less. This is the point when many LGBT people quit reading--please don't. Christians believe that sinners (all of us) can be forgiven and redeemed through the Grace of God and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. This includes LGBT people. I am all for LGBT people having a way to enter into a relationship that allows them the same rights as traditional married people: tax breaks, health decisions, joint property ownership, health insurance coverage, etc. I believe you don't have to call it "marriage" or refer to your life partner as a "husband" or "wife." (Interesting aside: other parts of the Liberal community are trying to get us to eliminate husband and wife from our vocabulary because it's sexist.) If the LGBT community would leave marriage with it's traditional meaning, they would get a lot more support for civil unions from conservatives.
2) I assert that the entire cast of "Hamilton" isn't LGBT. Some must the "straight." If the cast of "Hamilton" is scared of the Americans who voted for Trump/Pence, I suggest their fears are uncalled for. Republicans may change the country's direction. It may mean more jobs, lower taxes, a stronger military, and a stronger image of the US on the world stage. I don't see how any of this adversely impacts stage actors in New York. The repeal of the ACA means they can choose to buy health insurance or not without penalty. It also means their employer is free to offer health insurance as a inducement to employment, or not. Perhaps some social welfare programs will be less generous, but if they are successful stage actors, then they should appreciate the tax cuts more than being concerned about welfare. I just don't get it. Except they are liberals and Pence isn't.

Pence has made it Plenty Clear that he believes in "Repair Therapy" for LGBTs (Like ancient Psychologist and Theologians he believes it to be Mental Illness) and there is not shortage of Republican Contempt for "Intellectuals" and their love of the Arts.
